We want everyone to be able to look through our cakes, read our menu and book a tasting. We built this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we've done

  • Every page works with a keyboard alone, shows where you are as you move through it, and starts with a "Skip to content" link.
  • Text and buttons have strong contrast, and every page still works when you zoom to 200% or use a screen 320 pixels wide.
  • Photos have written descriptions. The pencil drawing on the home page is decoration.
  • Every field on the tasting form has a label, and if something is missing, the form tells you what and where in words.
  • We check the site with automated tests that cover keyboard use, zoom and small screens.

One gap we know about

The pencil drawing at the top of the home page plays for about eight seconds and can't be paused. If your device is set to reduce motion, you see the finished drawing straight away, without the animation.
